SPIE Photonics West

Photonics West13. February 2016 – 18. February 2016

San Francisco, United States

Photonics West at Moscone Center will be opened in 2016 with more than 1,250 companies as the flagship event to find the latest products, tools, and applica-tions for research or business needs. SPIE Photonics West will show two of the most important exhibitions in the industry, laser (Photonics West Exhibition) and bio-medical optics (BiOS Expo) with a variety of new products.

Photonics West includes the entire spectrum of light-driven technologies and attracts researchers, com-panies, and product developers from around the world. The conference expects 20,000 attendees, will organize six renowned symposia, and 4,800 R&D presentations covering a wide range of papers. The Photonics West conference program includes five symposia: The BiOS symposium (biomedical optics) is seeing the most growth. It is accompanied by the BiOS exhibition, encompassing clinical, translational, and fundamental R&D. LASE – presents the latest fundamental and applied research on new laser sources and applications.

OPTO – optoelectronic materials, devices, and applications – addresses the latest developments in a broad range of optoelectronic materials and devices, including semi-conductor lasers and LEDs. Green Photonics highlights papers from OPTO and LASE will showcase the latest photonics and optoelectronic tools and materials.

“3D Printing” will show the potential of 3D printing and manufacturing as a rapidly evolving phenomenon in the field of manufacturing. Translational Research 2016 will highlight papers from BiOS that showcase the latest photonics technologies, tools, and techniques with high potential to impact healthcare. The best photonics products on the market will be recognized at a gala awards banquet for the Prism Awards 2016. The event has become one of the largest gatherings of CEOs and VIPs in the photonics industry.

The “German Pavilion” once again will be the largest booth of the Photonics West exhibition. Initiated by OptecNet Deutschland, the Association of the German Competence Networks, and Spectaris, the German Industry Association for Optical, Medical and Mechatronical Technologies, and supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the German Pavilion presents once again 50 SME companies and institutes. The German Pavilion provides a profound insight into the innovative strength and diversity of this leading technology in Germany. (cb)
