Müller-Borhanian Becomes CEO at Plasmo

With effect from October 1, 2020, the shareholders of Plasmo and the Berndorf holding company have named Jürgen Müller-Borhanian as CEO of Plasmo Industrietechnik.

Müller-Borhanian has already been active at Plasmo as chief operations officer since November 2019. His responsibilities include global sales, marketing and customer success, partnerships as well as customer care and quality management. The German-born executive has been associated with the laser industry for many years through various management positions.

“Jürgen Müller-Borhanian combines all the requirements we need to massively expand Plasmo in Europe, the USA and China as well as with our sales partners worldwide in the coming years,” states the management of Berndorf AG. “The combination of international networking, excellent industry knowledge and many years of top management experience makes Müller-Borhanian the ideal person for the position of CEO.”

After vocational training at Robert Bosch, he studied physics at the University of Stuttgart as a scholarship holder of the Robert Bosch Foundation and completed his studies with a diploma thesis at the Institut für Strahlwerkzeuge (IFSW). Müller-Borhanian also received his doctorate there in 2008 while working part-time. From being a scientific assistant in laser material processing and process development at the IFSW of Stuttgart University, he was appointed by the Forschungsgesellschaft für Strahlwerkzeuge as leading scientist in process monitoring and diagnostics as well as overall coordinator of the BMBF project INESS. He started his industry career as sales and business unit manager at Precitec. After holding various management positions, he was appointed to the executive board in 2014 and was then globally responsible for sales and marketing. In addition, he was a member of the management boards of both Precitec USA and Precitec Japan. In 2019 he moved to Plasmo as COO.
