GD Optics Sets Itself up for the Future

With effect from 1 January 2021, Winfried Czilwa is appointed sole managing director of GD Optics. He replaces the duo consisting of Juliane Wolz and Ullrich Blöcher, who continue to support him. Due to the increasing international demand and the unique technological competence, the company wants to reposition itself strategically in order to further expand its market position. To this end, the previous management, consisting of Juliane Wolz and Ullrich Blöcher, decided to place the responsibility in the hands of an experienced manager.

Winfried Czilwa, a graduate engineer, brings with him an extensive expertise in the areas of business development, strategy and brand development, product management and internationalization, which he has demonstrated in various companies, most recently since 2014 as CEO and chairman of the management board at the tool manufacturer Stahlwille in Wuppertal. “I am looking forward to the new task in a technologically demanding industry and a company with huge potential,” says Czilwa.

“We are very pleased that we were able to win Winfried Czilwa for our family-owned company,” explains Juliane Wolz, who continues to be the company’s manager. Technical director Ullrich Blöcher adds: “With Mr Czilwa, we have gained an experienced leadership in order to be able to realize the growth course of our company in a targeted and successful manner.”

GD Optics, based in the Central Hesse sense, develops and manufactures optical components for high-tech applications by means of precision blan,with a focus on customer-specific solutions.
