Cycle Lasers Appoint Daniel Seiler as CEO

Cycle GmbH, manufacturer of laser-based time distribution and synchronization systems, is expanding its management team. For the position of the CEO, Cycle GmbH was able to recruit Daniel Seiler who works for the young Hamburg-based company since August 1, 2020. The 42-year-old has 15 years of experience in the photonics industry and was most recently managing director of a successful medium-sized manufacturer of industrial cameras. The founder of Cycle, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Franz X. Kaertner, will remain with the company in a central strategic role and focus on optical technologies.

“I am very much looking forward to this new challenge,” explains Seiler. “What got me excited about Cycle is the high level of innovation in the field of ultrashort-pulse laser systems as well as the large growth potential.”
Prof. Franz Kaertner adds: “With Daniel Seiler, we have been able to gain an experienced manager who brings exactly the right skills in the development and production of electro-optical components and in the internationalization of a young company. I am convinced that together we will continue and increase the success of Cycle.”

Daniel Seiler has a diploma in electrical engineering as well as business management knowledge from a part-time MBA program. He will take over full-time operational management of Cycle, including engineering and sales. Prof. Franz Kaertner, who heads the research group for ultrafast laser physics at DESY and teaches physics at the University of Hamburg, will continue to play a central role in Cycle as technical innovation driver.
