Dr. Lutz Aschke has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for the business division Laser Technology / Electronics at Trumpf in Ditzingen. He has been working for the German laser pioneer since 2015.

“The prospects at the internationally active laser specialist Trumpf are very exciting and fascinating”, he says. “That’s why I am very happy to be with Trumpf now.”

Before that, Aschke was Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of Limo Lissotschenko Mikrooptik GmbH in Germany from 2004 to 2014. In this function, he also served as a member of the program committee “Optical Technologies” at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research BMBF. He actively supported the workshops and the creation of the “Agenda Photonik 2020” from 2007 until 2015.

Furthermore, he is a chairman of the board of IVAM, the international association of companies and institutes in the field of microtechnology, nanotechnology and advanced materials since 2007. Since 2012 he is a member of the board of directors of the Laser Institute of America as well as a member of the board of FOM, the research association for precision engineering, optics and medical technology. From 2011 until 2014 he has been a member of the board of stakeholders of the European Photoncis21 Initiative and additionally since 2013 executive board member and leader of the working group “Industrial Production / Manufacturing and Quality”.

His scientific background is in plasma physics, especially DUV optics, EUV light sources and laser fusion. He was EUV program manager for Schott Lithotec from 2000 to 2004. And to add to all that, Aschke is also gifted in music. He plays piano and keyboards and won the music and composition contest “Jugend komponiert” for several times in his teen years.
