Grown up, but Still with Its Personal Touch

It was time to relocate after more than thirty years of LAF history. The move to the Bremen Congress Center was the right decision, according to the opinion of approximately 150 visitors and exhibitors from nine nations who had followed the call to Bremen. More than twice as many booths were presented at the 11th Laser Application Forum. The new premises provided an opportunity for intensive discussions in the openplan exhibition and offered new perspectives inspired by the presentations.

“The LAF is an important networking event for me,” says one of the visitors, “it has grown up but still remained with a personal touch.” In fact, there was a lively exchange during the forum – not only among trade visitors, but also among the exhibitors.

LAF offered the perfect mix of user reports, exhibition and networking opportunities. Many speakers reported openly about new solutions and difficulties – important details for the professional audience. Also illustrative material was passed around in plenary. Aspects related to laser beam joining, trend topics such as digital aspects, an innovative online platform as well as topics of additive manufacturing, but also classical topics such as OCT, joining, and measurement techniques were discussed. Under the motto “made in BIAS” Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Vollertsen, managing director, presented the topics of research at the BIAS, renowned in research for more than forty years.

The next LAF will take place on November 25th and 26th, 2020 at the Bremen Congress Center. (Source: BIAS)
