The company grew during the past year, achieved a turnover of more than 70 million Euros, and has the ambition to increase this amount to 100 million Euros within five years. Hans Velten was appointed Commercial Director on 1 January 2015, to help the company achieve this goal. He herewith succeeds Pierre Verwegen. Velten is no stranger to AWL; he already worked for the organization between 1993 and 1997 as an Account Manager.

A great deal is being invested in R&D, to ensure that the company can continue to serve the demanding automotive industry. With the development of the Smartline and the Quick Motion, amongst other things, AWL is noticing an increase in the number of projects using these cells. “During the past year, we have integrated more than 200 robots in our projects, which is an absolute record. This increase is expected to continue in the years to come, as is the case for far-reaching automation”, explains Van ’t Hof.

In 2014, AWL achieved nearly 20% of its turnover with specials for the general metalworking industry. This is a trend which is expected to continue through next year. “This is naturally great as far as turnover is concerned, but it also provides us with the opportunity to develop unique projects,  says Van ’t Hof.
