AKL’16: Experience Laser Technology Live

From April 27 to 29, 2016 the laser com­mu­nity is meeting at the Inter­national Laser Tech­no­logy Congress AKL’16 for the eleventh time in Aachen. For every target group – be it laser manu­factu­rers, users or beginners – around eighty lecturers will be bringing together inno­vative appli­cations from the industry and latest research results from science. Further­more, atten­dees have the chance to expe­rience Laser Technology Live at the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Techno­logy, ILT.

Over 600 participants from Germany and abroad are expected at the eleventh Inter­national Laser Techno­logy Congress AKL’16 in the Euro­gress in Aachen, Germany. In three parallel sessions the proven main program of the techno­logical conference will encompass the latest laser manufacturing processes for micro and macro applications – from cutting and welding via micro-joining and laser material deposi­tion all the way to polishing and thin film processes – as well as innovative develop­ments in the field of laser beam sources. The technological conference will be accompanied by a sponsors’ exhibition comprising over fifty renowned companies in laser technology. In individual conversations participants have the opportunity to inform themselves on innovative products and processes in laser technology as well as to establish contacts or deepen existing contacts.

During the Seminar Laser Technology ABC’s on April 27, experts provide a structured and practice-oriented overview for companies with little experience in the area of laser technology. On the Technology Business Day on April 27, 2016, managing directors, marketing managers as well as sales directors will obtain useful infor­mation of the laser markets world­wide and sector-specific insight for the use of laser techno­logy in the manufac­turing industry. Additio­nally, on the first confe­rence day, you can get a comprehensive overview on the state of the art and current develop­ments in two separate forums, as well as contacts to designated experts, if you would like to delve deeper into Process Control or Laser Addi­tive Manu­fac­turing.

At the event “Laser Tech­no­logy Live”, parti­ci­pants of the AKL’16 will be able to ex­change ideas inten­sive­ly on the latest tech­no­lo­gical develop­ments thanks to around seventy live pre­sen­ta­tions in the appli­ca­tion center of the Fraun­hofer ILT.

But not only from the sci­en­ti­fic point of view does “Laser Tech­no­lo­gy Live” pro­vide valu­able impulses. Among others, com­pa­nies will learn from the mana­ging di­rec­tors of the Aachen Center for Addi­tive Manu­fac­tu­ring ACAM how to pro­fi­tably establish addi­tive manu­fac­tu­ring tech­no­lo­gies into their pro­duc­tion pro­ces­ses. Chris­tian Hinke, managing director of the fun­ding ini­tia­tive “Research Campus Digital Pho­tonic Produc­tion”, will inform inte­rested parties about medium to long term co­opera­tion possibi­lities in the “Inno­vation Center Digital Pho­to­nic Pro­duc­tion”.

In the evening on April 28, 2016, the Fraunhofer ILT invites the participants of the AKL’16 to the opening of the Innovation Center DPP. As the first building of the Photonics Cluster near the Fraunhofer ILT, the Innovation Center is part of the emerging campus of the RWTH Aachen University, one of Europe’s biggest technological oriented research landscapes. Here, scientists work, among other subjects, on projects of the Research Campus DPP, funded by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research BMBF, in which scientists investigate new methods and fundamental physical effects regarding the use of light as an instrument in future industrial production.
